The scrap yard is usually provided with cranes, which load the scrap into the scrap buckets, positioned on scrap transfer cars equipped with load cells. When the desired amount of scrap is loaded, the transfer cars move the scrap buckets into the melt-shop building.
As an alternative, the scrap yard can be supplied with weighing bridge, necessary to provide the weight data of each loaded bucket to the EAF melting control system.
